Discover Smart City Berlin
How can the city of tomorrow be experienced today? What and where are the smart places in Berlin?
On behalf of the Senate Department for Economic Affairs and Energy, interactive city tours were developed that make it easy to get to and visit smart places in Berlin. For this purpose, the app „Discover Smart City Berlin“ was developed with the support of Berliner Energieagentur for all interested parties.
The app presents projects that show that the smart city is not a dream of the future, but is already a reality in many places in Berlin.
The City as Experience
Users of the app can discover innovative solutions for aspects such as digitalisation, climate protection or demographic change and socially acceptable living at selected locations.
Short and concise intros on each location are intended to create an incentive to learn more about Smart City Berlin on site. Selected locations are additionally accompanied by an audio clip and offer further exciting details to discover during an on-site visit. Whether a puzzle or sharing selfies and feedback.
The Discover Smart City Berlin app not only lists facts, it presents smart places that provide exemplary (innovative) answers to the challenges of our time.
Individual contributions from project promoters reflect what is smart about the selected place, without clearly defining the term smart. The app presents both the well-known points of interest for the Smart City Berlin, such as the EUREF Campus, as well as lesser-known places, which, however, show no less innovative approaches to solutions for a Smart City.
